Subaru?

Haven't had much time recently to do anything but scan the
mails....Subaru?  C'mon, you're yanking my chain!
Several comments in the thread say VW doesn't offer a good car anymore.
How 'bout a 2002 1.8 20v turbo for 18,900?  (see www.vw.com)  No good?
Also comes with the VR6 should you choose (20,295). But, then again, I'm
a VW kind of guy -- altogether 8 rabbits, 2 jettas, a Passat, Vanagon,
and Scirocco -- so you're not going to persuade me into something else
without some good reason!

Just my opinion, of course...
