street form parents place,
and my father (lawyer) has helped him on a personal case, and never charged
him for it, he called in a favor. :)

=>This has been my way of thinking. I want to make sure my car goes and
=>handles very well before I really dig into the body and paint. Sure, it
=>needs paint bad (just ask John E.), but it runs well. And in about a month
=>or less, it'll handle and stop well too :)
=>
=>I paid $200 for it a little less than a couple years ago. Since then I've
=>dumped about $6-7K into it. I'm happy though. It runs great, and
=>is slowing
=>looking better as time and finances move past.
=>
=>What I want to know is, how did you get a nice paint job and body work for
=>only $1000?! So far I've been told that in order to fill my badge and big
=>wing holes, fix all the little dings, and repaint my roc mars red (stock
=>color), it's going to cost anywhere between $2500 and $3500!

=>Patrick, sometimes I feel like I'm in the same boat. I just think you
=>should have looked at the running gear first and then all the other
=>stuff. I think if I found some big frame damage like yours had, I would
=>have just picked up a different MK2 to live with. I look at the rust on
=>my 80 and it scares the crap out of me as to how much I might spend on
=>it only to find something else big that needs to be fixed.
