Also I'd like to add that you get a bit more control with PS
in cases like front wheel blow outs, uneven pavement, etc.  In my
old '82 scirocco I can distinctly remember the steering wheel being
ripped out of my hands whilst traveling at high speeds when I encountered
uneven pavement.  Scary.
