Warm running problem

It's really cold out and I need some pointers on fixing my 80 (Ole
Paul).  When the engine is cold, it runs great.  The car feels much
stronger than my 86.  After the oil temperture starts to come up, It
feels like the timing is really off.  What I think it is, is one of the
vacuum hoses is not connected correctly.  The problem is that the car
has been worked on before I got it.   
  Since it seems to be a timing issue, I guess that one of the hoses
going to the distributor is the problem.  Is there something I'm not
thinking of?
