Origins of Fuba?

Hi,

FUBA is not a German word.

almost nobody here knows what a "FUBA" is .
I havn't heard that either before I got on the Scirocco list.

here in Germany we call it "16V Antenne "

Why do they call that antenna the 'fuba'? Is this some
German word? Has anyone noticed how this style of
antenna is proliferating to other makes?

In passing I would like to ask if anyone has noticed
the slightly cockeyed look of the Bug' s rear tail
lights? Note there is a line bisecting the center of
these circular lights, and that this line appears to
tilt at slightly different angles from its twin.
