Painting/dying Recaros

I can pick up a mint set of MKII Recaros for my MK1 for $50, but they
are VERY blue...  The vinyl is all blue, and the fabric is mostly blue
and black IIRC.

Has anyone dyed seat fabric or painted vinyl seats?  I'd like to make
em all black.

There's a line of products available at Crappy Tire that claims to do
the above, but "how well" is what I'd like to know...

How about applying a die to the fabric?

Anyone, anyone?
