AGAIN!Re: EMERGENCY question on Valve Adjustment -please help!

Sorry for the bad reply, I was at work and it was late last night... my bad.
after rereading the message I think I am still confused here..but here goes.

1) 2 head, one ported on stock
2) ported head has bad shims, stock has good shims
3) 2 JH blocks, one bad compression one good compression
4) you are going to use the good compression block end of story on the block
side of things
5) you tried swapping cam/shims from stock head, and it does not fit
properly on ported head
6) logic dictactes.... get a shim kit and solve problem. or if you get shim
specs you need (see bentley for how to measure this info) get a set of shims
for ported head from dealer (they usually keep them in stock or call
pottermans they have them too :)

sorry cannot think of anything else.

Can't swap heads- the one with bad valve adjustment has gone through
hours of porting, polishing, cleaning, and massaging. I don't really think
it's that much trouble to swap cams and shims, I could do it in 20 minutes.
So why not at least TRY and see if it the valves are still within spec?

why go through all the trouble of swapping cam and shims

why not just take the good head and the good block and
put them together JH parts are interchangeble what ever
    year they are from...
