mixing shock brands?

Jeff, there is nothing wrong with mixing and matching so long as the same
dampers are used from side to side. The damping rates should be at least
fairly similar, though. For instance, I've got Bilstein Sports in the front
of my car and Koni Yellow adjustables in the back.

  I've seen a few instances where some have mixed shock brands (koni fronts
w/ Bilstein rear or Bilstein fronts w. Boge TGas Rear)..
  is this advisable? I find it hard to believe that there could be any
benefit to this...other than cost...
