Updgrading engine power.. A LITTLE OT

Hey,cool site link!!! I did the same swap in my car,but mine is not a
Rocco(86 GTI);but I DO own a Rocco 16V as well.Anyhoo;I did mostly the same
things you did,except:
Used Hydro head from 86 GTi
My block already had the ign. dist.(= $$ saved)
My car already had the knock sensor setup(= $$$ saved & more power)
Used all pulleys & W/P from Audi 80(works great!)
Used dual outlet e/m & d/p from 94 Golf
BTW,part # for the H/G is the same for the 2.0L 16V 9A as it is for the 2.0L
3A
Only had to swap oil pan & pickup from the old 1.8L('cause I had hydro
head;w/solid head must change pump)
Teed the 2.0L breather into my existing breather lines(between V/C grommet &
airbox)Pic coming soon
Shaved hydro head .040"(= 11:1 CR)
I use 110 octane racing gas(it is my hobby stock racer)
Total cost was about $300(for the parts),did all labor myself
Stock cam
Summary: this car FLIES!! It eats Hondas & Nissans, and shits Saabs,Beemers &
Toyotas!
BTW,where did you get headbolts for $15?? I'd like to know!It also has a AWY
tranny from a '91 diesel Jetta(3.94 R&P,vs. 3.66 R&P in 9A)Only other dubs
at speedway are 84 Wabbit,86 Golf,and 89 Jetta.(besides my 87 16V Rocco)They
all come to me in the pits for advice. Please LMK what you think.Ken R.
