Oil squirters. Required, or dead weight?

Exactly. I've decided to keep the squirters. Since the rods and=
pistons were installed backwards, when the rods were ground to=
clear the squirters, they were clearanced on the wrong side. Now=
that I've flipped everything to it's correct orientation, the=
clearancing is on the wrong side of the rod. I am hoping I can=
find a reputable race shop here that will work with the original=
on getting it fixed and re-balanced correctly ASAP.

Thanks all for the input. I figure if the factory thought the=
stock 16v needed oil squirters, a modified one should probably=
 retaint them.

p.s. Anyone got a scirocco near Tallahassee I could drive? I'm=
 having withdrawals...

he has a 2.0 crank in a 1.8 block, thats the reason. the proper=
fix would be to completely rebuild
everything into a 2.0 block. thats a bit of an extreme fix.
