A/C questions

I am forwarding this message as I think Gary  hit reply and it sent it to me

never understand but anyways)

Gary, I think you need to take your temp coontrol panel apart and take a
good look at your vacuum lines, I had this happen to me, and it was 2 hoses
that where inverted.
Do you have the etka? if so the complete hose diagram for the vent control
panel system in a scirocco would be located at page SCI-85-8-20-149.00 or in
th bentley you have some reference to this being at page 12-13 in  the body
interior section on fig: 4-29 top right corner insert you have it all there.
I would get heather to see if any are leaking too (had one cracked also)

Howdy y'all...

As per we all live in TX (don't we?) I think you guys can understand my
plight a little better than most.  Currently my A/C works well, but only the
left and right vents blow cold, and the center ones blow heat.

I've heard that this IS normal, and that it is definitely NOT normal.  I
also sorta get the impression that it's normal for the side vents not to
blow heat (not a problem for me), but that the center vents should work with
both the heat and the A/C.

I'm putting the car in the shop next week (heheh...how many times have I
said that the last couple months?  =), and i'd like to get the A/C fixed as
well while it's there.  I don't mind paying for it, I just want to make sure
that the middle vents are actually *supposed* to blow cold air.  Gawd I hope
so...two vents can't cut it in Texas.
