MkII Interior Fan grounds(I THINK I HAVE THE ANSWER)

I just fixed this exact same problem.....if you're hearing the clicking under the dashboard (relays), and the blower motor just all of a sudden stopped(not the switch ususally if you hear the clicking), check under your dashboard. Just to the right of your fuse block should be 2 round metal fixtures with prongs on them. together they kind of resemble a figure 8. Check somewhere around there and see if there's a thick brown wire loose underneath the dash somewhere in the vicinity...should be brown, is on my 87 16v. Just make sure the key is off, the switch is off, and connect the wire to one of the empty prongs on the bottom round thing. That's the ground wire. I tore out my hair for months, relplaced the switch 3 times, replaced the blower motor, replaced every fuse and relay associated with that damn thing, and found that by accident(accompanied by a shower of blue sparks and a nice shock) That should work. The clutch pedal was rubbing the wiring harness and just pulling it back and forth until it ca
me loose. still happens from time to time..Good Luck!!!!!!
