Murphy and Finagle have visited the north

<vent>

It must be cold outside because my 87 8v has decided it wants some
attention. Driving home from work, suddenly heard a very noticeable increase
in engine noise and a nasty dragging sound. Took the next available off-ramp
from the Queensway, stopped on the side of the road and walked back 100 feet to
retrieve my muffler. Tossed that into the back and got back on the Queensway
to finish the drive home and the clutch felt really strange. A little poking
with my left foot and I realized the clutch cable was sticking :( Not enough
to cause slippage, but enough that it ain't moving from my driveway without a
new one now.
Looking at my former muffler, looks like the hanger failed (anyone not
know what bodged means? ;)) some time in the past and the bumpiness of the
roads in Ottawa eventually caused the muffler's weight to split the pipe. I
checked that just before Christmas, because it had failed once before and
started knocking on the floorpan in the back. I guess the pipe didn't have
enough life to go through it twice.
The only good news is that a couple weeks ago my brother-and-law and I
finished insulating and dry-walling my garage, so it won't be that
uncomfortable to work on. I think my little 'hangar queen' wants a short stay
in her newly decorated home.

Cheers (and thanks for listening :))
