Speedo

I'd say so. Mine did that for a while before it failed. Or it might be that
the cable is snagged and rubbing on something or something is rubbing on it.
Might be an idea to check along the cable before you replace it. Maybe. or
something. Gah, too many late nights. Need to go home and sleep.

My clutch cable snapped last night, in rush hour traffic, in the freezing
cold. Which was nice. Didn't want to drive the 20 miles back through heavy
stop/start traffic and numerous traffic lights and roundabouts. Waited for
GreenFlag (during which time I stripped the old cable out as they were
supposed to be bringing a new one), "Don't worry sir, we'll be there within
the hour!!", only for them to phone me an hour and 15 minutes later telling
me that they'd be at least another hour and a half. Thought, "sod that for a
game of soldiers" and drove it home. The traffic was much lighter then so I
managed to do it only stopping twice.

John (new year's resolution - carry a spare clutch cable in future)

Yesterday morning (20*) my speedo started making lots of noise and the
needle was shakin' like the devil.  After about 3 minutes of 70 mph it
stopped, but I'm wondering if it is about to fail.
