Necessity of oil cooler in 16v rocco?

It's been my reading and listening that the 16v motors run hotter than
the 8vs and they are 10:1 motors as well, right?  Offset this with
increases in oil technology and it becomes somewhat less the 'must have'
it used to be, but still a desired mod.

Any oil cooler you use should have a thermostat in line to prevent too
much cooling of the oil (which can be bad like too hot can be).

The stock oil cooler (also know as an oil Warmer!) is prone to busting
and I don't recommend them. HEre is a link to a page where you look at

btw- I have a thermostat mount and one of two hoses but need the multi
row cooler still.
