Cat Back install Question...

Any advice on dealing with those exhaust hangars from hell?  I have seen 
that there are "exhaust hanger spreaders" from Rocky Mountain(for example) 
but they are over $50.  I guess if I spend enough time and bust enough 
knuckels it will seem a bargain.  Also anyone install the 2.25 TT cat-back 
on their MK1, did the main long pipe seem to tuck up into the "tunnel" in 
the chassis pretty good/far?  Mine, albeit in pre-assembly mode is a bit 
low.  An inch or two.  Would it be beter to use the included clamps or limp 
down to a muffler shop and pay for a permament weld job?
