VR6 - was this might be the last straw



No, the belt is on the opposite end of the engine.  The only thing I could
concieve of happening was if the crankshaft stopped so suddenly that it tore
the belt, but I REALLY don't think that is possible.  There just isn't
enough inertia on the axccessories to rip the belt, I don't think.  Broken
belt shouldn't hurt anything, so make sure the shop knows what the heck they
are talking about.  Maybe some new idiot mechanic looked at that belt,
called it timing belt, and told everyone that was the problem.  Check it out
before you sell it, at least.
