4K w/ .75... similar Question

Folks,

Went down that path recently with my 4k and put the
stock 16v 5th back in. The reason? Even my 2.0 16v
with schrick 268s and Oettinger head could not pull
the gear. It felt as though I could not get 'on top of
it'. Before I had no problem with a tick over 140 at
6800, when I swapped I was lucky to get to 125 even
after redlining 4th at 110 it would fall on its face.
Great gas mileage on the freeway, though. Eighty was
at 3200.

Now, I can be humming along at 80 @4000, put the foot
in and watch speedo rapidly climb, without
downshifting.

Just sharing my experience.
