Resto advice needed: undercoat removal



I think you are wrong on that point.  My dad had his 1940 Ford "dipped" and
it removes everything!!  It will take off paint, body filler, anything
rubber or plastic, and even lead that was once used as a body filler.  When
we dropped the car off a few guys went around it and made sure that there
were no fasteners of a certain type because it will eat those too.  When
they remove the car after two days it is nothing but bare metal.  They spray
it down a few times between dipping it into other chemicals to neutralize
the acid.  He didn't have any trouble with it.

I think that undercoating will do quite a good job of protecting the metal
to the point where the
acid bath probably wont touch it.
