duty cycle is on a 100% scale
i think the dwell scale is dependent on the engine, 90 for ours
if you want to use a plain meter to read the duty cycle, you can measure the
voltage in dc mode. since the meter takes the dc average, you will come up
with the average voltage applied. this is compared to the max applied
(probably 5 or 12 volts), can also be found by measuring ac volts in some
circuits.
example: if the circuit goes between 0 and 10 volts and you measure 7 VDC,
you have a 70% duty cycle.
