starting problems (solved?)

<html><div style='background-color:'><DIV>Ok, so I changed the battery in the Jetta for the pretty new one in the scirocco. after hooking it up, the car won't even crank, pump won't turn on, nothin. I hooked the battery charger up to it and it shot up to the top, so the battery is definitely&nbsp;good. So, i looked at the grounds and they were bad so i put in some better battery cable, grounded it better, tightened connection at starter&nbsp;etc. Still nothing.&nbsp; Then i hooked the battery charger up just for the heck of it and after only a couple seconds when i tried to start it the fuel pump at least came on and clock worked and stuff, so that was good. Then my dad and I tried to push start it which didn't work but my dad says that it seemed like it "wanted to start" and he thinks it needs gas. We went and got gas then tried push starting again and it started and i drove around for a while and it drove and ran fine. When i got home i was able to start it fine several times. The thing is, after it started the gauge said i had half a tank but we only added like a gallon of gas, so... I guess I'll just have to see if it starts after sitting for a while. One last thing, i drained the "coolant" (it was all brown and gross) today and flushed the system but when i went to fill it up i couldn't get the 5.1 quarts in that it's supposed to take, the radiator would overflow if I tried even after running it and all that, but it didn't overheat or anything. Any idea what the problem is there? Sorry for the length. Thanks for all your help.</DIV>
