Imitation US plates

With all of us building euro spec cars, I've always wondered if they do the
same over there. Too bad it isn't more popular.

I'll trade anybody my US spec Rocc for a UK spec one!

A  mate of mine in the UK has a US spec car and would like a set of custom
US plates. Does anyone stamp out fake plates?
I have only seen the thin plastic ones and they just dont look the biz.
