Handbrake cable ID

I bought replacement handbrake cables for my 8V, but now I've come to fit
them I find they're nothing like the original ones. What a PITA. The outer
sheath is about 3" longer and the brake end is different:

Have I been sold a 16V part or something? This is the last thing I need
because I can't get new ones until Tuesday now.
