The ABA in a Scirocco gives you a nice strong motor but requires you to
clearance the firewall for the thottle linkage, and to use a custom
downpipe. Also, if you go with a crossflow head and intake, then you have
to clearance the hood and change injector bosses unless you run EFI.

The Audi 3A is a good strong choice but will probably be a higher mileage
block/motor from your local wrecker.

Both blocks require some type of distributor adapter to function with cis
and/or cis-e

If you use the Audi head on the Audi block you also have to use the Audi
intake manifold because the injector bosses are in the manifold.

And, if I recall the Audi doesn't run a cold start valve in that
manifold......so some drillin and tapin might have to be done.

Subject: Engine swap decision.

What is better, or the pro and cons of either engine (The audi Bubble block
3A vs the VW Tall block ABA) I would like to increase the bore and put a
bigger crank in the future as well....

I have checked out this page as well which lists some pros and cons.

http://www.volkswagen.org/EngineSwap/Default.htm

I am thinking of going with the audi 3A engine using the head from the audi
engine. I believe you can use the audi head instead of my scirocco's head.
Is there an advantage to this?

Thanks for any advice!!!
