Subject: 10.1" brakes - caliper bushings/rubber dealies?

Quick question for those more experienced --

I'm going to be replacing my rotors soon - they're down to 13.5mm
(bentley
says minimum thickness is 18mm and new is 20mm). I know, I know.. I'm
about 50,000 miles overdue but its better late than never, eh?

Anyway, I'm wondering if there are any bushings or rubber dust caps or
whatever that I should replace while I'm down there? I've got 1 yr old
Ferodos on there now and I've been getting a little bit of squealing
occasionally. Wondering if its the rotors begging for sweet death or if
I
have a guide pin that's worn out of something.

I know I've read about such things for the 8v brakes but I've never
specifically seen them for the 10.1" vented fronts.

Anyone?

Anyone?

:)

The 10.1" brakes has dust boots on the caliper pins and they can usually
be re-used. Carefully pry off the dust boots, pull the pins out, clean
them and lubricate them with synthetic grease.

My Volkswagen dealer can't get the dust boots or pins by themselves,
says they are part of the carrier.

The dust boots are available at most auto parts stores.
