Substitute Parts

Is there a list of suitable substitute parts anywhere? I
know we have had several threads regarding the use of A2,
3 and even A4 rear calipers. I just saved about $130 by
putting some A3 rear calipers Potter had on sale on my
16v. I also saved $60 by using a Corrado master cylinder
instead of a replacement Scirocco master cylinder.
How many other situations like this exist? Help all us
cheap bastids save money!
