My '84 is getting put into service tomorrow.  I had to loan the '81 out 
to a buddy to drive while he loaned another buddy a car 'cause Buddy 
#2's Vanagon won't run.  I'm pretty confident that she'll be just fine, 
I've got about 400 miles on the new motor and for the most part things 
are working fine.  I know I have a tranny fluid leak  and a minor 
coolant leak (I'll write a seperate post about those), but all in all 
she runs good.
