Re: Finally!...Bought another Scirocco!

Rich,

isn't that the car the guy spent a fortune on and wanted 15,000 .... but he
was too cheap to put euro bumpers with the X1 kit? :)

Otherwise it's a nice car!

Well it has been over a year now since I took my last Scirocco off the road
parted it out due to a ripped up front cross member. I then bought a brand
new GTI VR6 that was nice and I even drove out to the Cincy meet this past
year, but as much as I loved the car, it just wasn't the same as my
scirocco. So I sold my GTI a few weeks ago and decided to once again
purchase a Scirocco. Well last night I worked out a deal to buy my next
Scirocco.

I'd like to first and foremost publicly thank Riley McDowall for his help
and I'd like to especially thank Cory Langford for driving out of his way to
personally inspect this car with a fine tooth comb and give me a fully
detailed report of the car. It's people like this that make being a scirocco
owner truly great....it's a entirely different world with Mk4 owners.

There are good points and bad points about purchasing this car.

First the bad:
-The car is in Vancouver, Im in delaware. Have to have it shipped and
getting it through customs will be fun.
-The car needs a few things, nothing too critical(head unit, new wheels and
tires, US Spec instrument cluster)
-The paint is fairly new but has some imperfections that need to be looked
at

The Good:
-The car is exactly what I have always wanted, its an 88 with a 1.8t motor
out of an 98 Audi A4.
-Fresh paint, non factory Red color(deep red)
-Kamei X1 body kit with reiger wing molded to the car
-custom exhaust with center outlet muffler
-67k miles on body, 40k miles on motor
-many upgrades incluing suspension, eurolights, brakes, etc...

A swap like this is very complicated and it is a risk buying it without
seeing the car first but after considering it for some time and talking it
over with various people I decided it's worth the risk. Only time will tell
if I made the right decision.
Im excited as hell and look forward to getting the car which will take at
least a few weeks. If anyone wants to see pics let me know.
