An 020 tranny should be able to hold 250hp without breaking -if you are nice
to it. I plan to be very nice to mine!

Ack! No intercooler? I wouldn't build that even with *your* money. Why go to
the trouble of turbocharging a VW for only 40-50hp? Throw a little nitrous
shot or just optimize the head, cam, etc. for that teeny gain. A turbo
system is only worth it if you reach 200hp in my opinion. And that is just
for starters.
