I came across an article a while back about these 5w
oils. This type of oil was meant for newer cars and
not reccomended for older cars. The article went on to
say that it was safer to stick to the type of oil
reccomended for your car. This came from a Popular
Mechanics magazine, and it was actually a response to
a letter written by a new Ford truck owner. I lay no
claim to being an expert on this, just passing what I
read on.
