RE: RE: [engine] idle hunting...

oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I've done the following this morning:
-cleaned air 'flapper'
-cleaned and replaced air idle stabilizer
-cleaned air boot to throttle body and cleaned as much of that as I could

just got back from DAP w/ injector seals....as other post asks, how hard
should I pull AND/OR am I even supposed to pull?

when the idle drops to stalling point, the oil pressure reads 0~.5 which I
know to be unacceptable.....at a normal idle it sits around 1~2. I have an
Audi 4000S gauge and sending unit. The lifters don't tap unless the pressure
stays too low for a minute or two....then it starts tapping for a while
until I can maintain a pressure of at least 4~5 for a few minutes sustained.

oh yeah, and the actual spelling on the truck is:
Sportruck .... 1 t, I had to look twice to make sure.

DanRabbitSportTruck-
What do you see when you are watching those gages? I mean, is the oil
pressure normal and the lifters still tap? (bad lifters) Or is the oil
pressure down, even at above-idle rpms? (bad oil pump) You should have
about one bar OP per 1000rpm.....when at normal operating temperature.

I'd say if you have to "get some good rpms on a straight-away." then you
have some problems. Either the lifters are trash or the oil pump is trash.
Just raising the RPM to a normal idle speed should stop any lifter noise if
everything is OK.
