Timing a 16v



Car in question is an '86 MkII 16v with the original 1.8.  I just changed
the distributor due to oil seepage.  Set the timing well enough to get it
started.   But when I go to time it, there's no pointer in the timing hole
on the bell housing.  Is this a 16v feature or do I have something weird
going on?  More importantly, how am I going to time this thing?  TIA.
