Bill,
there is an additive you can get (i forget the name, comes in a silver can).
its blue in color. Its pretty good at restoring valve seals and raising
compression.

Some sort of synthetic with a blue dye maybe?  Off road diesel or kerosene
(dyed blue to indicate that no road tax was paid on it) added to clean out
the engine?
