If I'm not mistaken I did see a retro Ghia concept in one of my German car 
magazines a while back. Whether they'll actually produce it is another 
question, but it seems that most of VW's studies end up on the street.

With all the "retro" nostalgia lately, i.e. the New Beetle, the New 
Thunderbird, the New Mini...maybe VW should make a New Karmann Ghia?!

Granted the Scirocco has quite a cult following, I think more of the baby 
boomer generation would identify with a small, fast, sporty car bearing the 
Ghia name.  Say a two seat low slung version of the Polo VR6?  SOmething 
with a tight swoopy body vaguely reminiscent of the old Karmann Ghia?

That might be worth some marketing research by VW.
