Re: stroker cranks




>From what I've heard and from what seems to happen, long-stroke VWs don't 
like to be revved very high.  I bet ABD's 2.2 16v blew up because of one of 
those reasons.  I for one would rather keep the more suitable rod ratios of 
the stock 1.8 or 2.0 and boost it, which would allow it to rev up high, 
where the 16v head and a turbo can breathe easier.

It would be cool if the blocks would allow for much larger bores than stock, 
like say the equivalent of .040" or .060" over.  This would allow for better 
revvability because you dont have to fuck with stroker cranks, but you still 
get the increased displacement.

Just some speculation/theory on my part.
