There's always a way where there's a will.. and I will it, even if I have to 
sand it out there a mm at a time... or just cut the darn thing out with the 
roof and weld in the roof from the A3   =)

Someone had done this .. otherwise I wouldn't even think of it.

You don't.  It's part of the structure.
