tech: DIY water injection

Jonas, Honnold, Wing Gee, and other hotrodders, if you're running
super-high compression, a wild turbo, 80-shot nitrous, etc., you may need to
increase your motor's detonation resistance. When racing gasoline is not
available, too expensive, or is otherwise an inconvenient solution, what do
you do? Well, a properly built water/alcohol injection system will probably
do you right. Visit the following link for directions about how to home-brew
your own system:

http://www.dawesdevices.com/water.html

Very complex, 3D mappable water injection systems are used in World Rally
Cars to suppress detonation -allowing 30lbs of boost in 100deg weather, 300+
horsepower from 2.0l 4-cyl motors, etc. The directions on this page won't
take you that far! However, I do know through second-hand reports that this
system offers 90% of the performance that the $500 kits will deliver. I
recall that the price tag for this is about $100.

I plan to rig one of these in my nitrous-equipped 2.0l 16v. Comments?
