RE: stupid woman - broke the car

Too much oil will cause blowby through your breather hose or even
possibly your valves. I was told by some reputable source ( can't
remember who, maybe TT) that you should run it about an 1/8" below the
full mark.

Subject: stupid woman - broke the car

Well, I'm home sick and in my three seconds of thinking I was better I
decide
to finally get at sanding down some of the grounds, especially since the
car
was starting badly yesterday when it was hot ( you know, bad contact,
add
heat, more resistance, causes more heat, etc) So no problems sanding the
contacts on the battery terminals, so I follow the wire to the starter
where
the problem was. Get out the trusty wrench and SNAP - off shears part of
the
(solenoid?) housing. Looked like metal but was green plastic underneath
the
silver paint. Well, at least the wires are off, and I notice the second
nut
which likely I should have had a second wrench on. The car for sure
won't
start now. The contacts were really cruddy, some consolation. so will I
need
to replace the whole solenoid, assuming that's what it is? (my Bentley
isn't
home) Needless to say, the wire heading under the air box is staying
put
until this is fixed.
On another note, what are the side effects of too much oil in the
engine? The
shop class that put the head on overfilled it a bit and just wondering
what
problems this would cause. I'll have them drain it a bit when it is
running,
probably easier to do it on the hoist unless it is a serious risk. What
a
waste of good synthetic.
