RE: 1.8 16v idle drop

There are a number of interrelated things to look for. 1) Idle speed valve
2) O2 sensor malfunction 3) oily distributor 4) fuel accumulator
Try unhooking the 02 sensor to see what happens. Look inside the
distributor for oily slime crapping out the rotor/posts. I ended up
replacing all of these.($$$)

Subject: 1.8 16v idle drop

Hey everyone-
A question for those much more knowledgeable than I:
when Im driving and I approach a stop sign/red light
and I engage the clutch my idle drops real low, then
it'll rise, sometimes falling then rising until it
levels out.
Ive diagnosed many items from fuel delivery to fuel
distributor, as best as I could, and I couldnt find
anything out of the ordinary. Fuel injectors?
Something affected by the slowing of the car's
momentum? Switches?
Any help is greatly appreciated,
Paul
