    i have to run my alternator belt a little loose to keep my bearings from
dusting themselves, but the downside to this has been that i will throw a
belt on a hard launch.

    i was at the 1/4 mile track last friday (managed a 14.83 on street tires
:Þ ), and on my third and final run, i launched from the line, and threw my
belt.  i managed a 14.9 without the belt, and am a little shocked, cuz it
felt like my fastest run of the night, but that's beside the point.

    so anyways, just a little bit of experience for ya'll...
