Re: Rear axle beam bushings, the method.



Gary,
I did the rears when I put the 16V rear axle beam on my Mk1.
I found a real easy way to press them out.
If you have the mount off the car:
Put it in a vice
Using a sharp utility knife, **carefully** cut the flared rubber end off of
one side.
This will take cutting quite a few chunks of rubber away.
Using a large deep socket or other such tool, hammer the mount out of the
bracket from this side.

Grease up and intall your poly's :)

It took me about 15 min. to do both mounts.
**Just be VERY careful with the utility knife**
