So if the > 85 8v have the bigger MC, would that still mean I have to
replace it with a 16v model to put
rear disc brakes (not 10.1" but standard ones in the rear...)

I think I am getting confused slowly...

That's my guess - was gonna use the reservoir off the '85
parts car for the '82 I just picked up - and it doesn't
fit.
