the ignition assembly is a big hunk of metal, which holds heat for longer than the rest of your
interior. if it was a hot day and you drove for a short time, your key will still be hot when you
take it out (since the ignition is not yet cool.
... or you have a high resistance connection in your ignition, but would probably make other stuff
do weird things, like headlights being dim, engine stuttering, etc...
