Thanks from the New Guy to List

Hello Scirocco-l folks,

Thanks for all the great info! I can see you folks as being a great source for help in keeping my Scirocco on the road. I see your help eliminating my "having to do it twice to get it right". It probablly won't help with me "taking 3 time what it should to do the repair".

Patrick, thanks for the light and fan info! Nice car, I hope to have mine looking as good, as we have the same car. I like the stock wheels. How'd you get them looking so good? Bead Blaster? Mine look like crap!

I now know that I need to find front and rear "body kit" parts. I think mine were Kamei, as the front peice that Patrick has on his looks to match the side peices I have. If someone should know where I can pick these up, please let me know. I know mine don't match the ones I saw on Kamei's website or any other kit makers I looked at.

Julie has me in the "Old Fart" listers. That's OK!

Why I'm gald to be an old fart Scirocco Driver!!

                Cost, incl. tax miles driven
1977 MkI (new) $5,439 62,000
1978 MkI (new) $6,328 187,000
1985 MkII(used) $2,900 97,000

Totals $14,667 346,000

I doubt you can buy a new VW for less than $15K or any other car for that
fact! The best part is the miles I've had fun driving!!

Take care! Dave
