I agree with Chris here...but let me add this...stay
the hell away from RTV if possible.  It's the _last_
thing you want floating around in your pan.

If you feel a sealer is required, find the Permatex
that doesn't harden, the kind that looks like Marmite
(oh hell you probably don't know what that looks
like...dark brown thick gooey stuff).  Put a *thin*
coat on the gasket area and where the pan bolts up,
and that's it.

I like to simply clean the piss out of it, and take a
little 220 wet-or-dry to the mating surfaces (if
practically possible), and assemble dry.  Unless I
have a fear of leakage, then the Permatex.  But I'm no
RTV fan, simply don't like it.
