Arrrrgh! Damn Odometer!

	After spending 2 hrs taking the odometer on my car and recording
picture and method (see web site for that info)
	and reseating the gear back in place, and it looked like it was
functional (Manually tunring the distance meter turned the odometer just fine)
	I took a trip this morning to the dealer to get some parts and ...
well.... it does not work again....arrrrrgh..

	Anyone know aside from changeing the whole thing (odometer) what else
could be wrong with it ?
