Re: Why are poly bushings "bad"?

Why are poly bushings bad? Dunno. I have had them on
my Cabby (omygoditsnotasciroccocanyoueverforgiveme?)
for about a year with zero problems...did not see the
increased spring rate issue as described in the
vwvortex thread (I assume that's an A2-specific
situation, my Cab actually had far less spring effect
with the poly).

I get a tiny squeak (yes, I greased them with a
special Cheapass brand formula) (OK it was moly grease
with little graphite) when it's really cold, and only
when going over the curb at the end of the driveway.

WOuld I do it again? Well, sure the new ones for the
SCIROCCO (see?, I said it!) are in the car, waiting
for the weather to break (and my darling to allow me
the time without that certain smirk she has...).

Later, and as far as poly, JFDI, it's easy and cheap
enough to change if you don't like them.

<DIV></DIV>&gt;According to the Shine Racing website,
you should buy their Teflon
<DIV></DIV>&gt;suspension bushings because poly
bushings are bad. They don't say why, and
<DIV></DIV>&gt;I'm curious. I'm thinking about doing
some suspension upgrades in the
<DIV></DIV>&gt;future (upper and lower stress bars,
front and rear sway bars), and I
<DIV></DIV>&gt;figured I might replace my bushings
(most likely original) with something
<DIV></DIV>&gt;better while I'm in there. I use my car
on the street exclusively. Can
<DIV></DIV>&gt;anyone shed light on this?
