Here it is in plain english that anyone can understand. (READ: no-decoder
crap.)

Warm it up, then remove all the plug wires and spark plugs. 
Hold the throttle wide open and crank the motor over 4-5 times. Just make
it the same amount of cranking for all the cylinders. Write down the
results.
Then you can put al little oil in each cylinder and repeat the process.
This will give you a wet compression test.
