Thanks all. 27mm indeed. I don't usually like to use Std. tools in place of
Metrics but I happened to have a set of sockets through 1" so I though I'd
see if I could fudge it. Close, no cigar.

Just as I lost all the daylight, I finally got Windy back together and fired
up for the first time since November. My workload and this unexpectedly
nasty winter conspired to keep me out from under her until today.

I forgot how much I like driving this car, and also that I have been meaning
to tighten the alternator belt since October - dammit. :)

First AutoX of the season is 18 March in St. Louis, trying to make sure I
have everything looked after before then so I don't break the car a hundred
miles from home. Is my Scirocco 16V still going to be in E stock this year -
I've seen some grumblings that it might be reclassed to H Stock.
