A2 Downpipe in A1 Chassis

There are no stupid questions, right?

What happens if I swap the A2 dual downpipe (86 GTI donor) along with
it's 1.8L engine
into my 1981 Scirocco? My front sway bar goes around the FRONT so it
won't bang any down pipe.

Any reason I don't want to use it? Any reason I have to go with
something from TT? Any reason an early A1 downpipe/manifold won't mate
up
to the 1.8L, 10:1 engine with it's hydro valves?
